Are PTC sites a WASTE OF TIME?

I have been using PTC (paid to click) sites since January 2009. Are they a waste of time?

1. You only get 1 or 2 cents per ad at most places, and sometimes even less.
2. At least 75% of PTC sites are scams or will become scams in the near future.
3. Your pay per hour, once you add up all the time you spend there is probably going to be far less than minimum wage.

Now I know you are thinking, NOT ALL PTC sites are SCAM! That's true. Some do pay. However, is it really worth your time? For me they have served to be more of a distraction from sites that pay more.

I've personally used at least 8 PTC sites:

1. NeoBux- A very reliable site, but you will have to spend at least 3 minutes to get a mere 4 cents per day. A waste of time, I have since deleted my account.

2. You Data. While You Data does not call itself a PTC site, that's pretty much how it works. This is the only one that I strongly recommend, since they pay 10-20+ cents per ad. Sounds to good to be true, but the catch is that the ads can only be clicked once. And there are not ads every day. I have spent less than 2 hours to get $9 or so, that's a good return on my investment. See my other post for more info.

3. NoMincashout. This site actually paid me early on but since then it has since then become a scam, with incredibly low pay- only ¼ a cent per ad.

4. Wordlinx. is supposedly the oldest PTC site. so far they have been fine, but they are slow like the rest of them. I will stick with this one and see if I can get any referrals.

5. BaleClix. This site turned out to be a scam too.

6. Hits4Pay. I am still active here and hoping to reach cashout in about a year. They started me off with $10, and give 2 cents per ad, but the minimum cashout is $25. I wish I did not sign up, and I do not recommend them.

7. MyPoints is not really a PTC site, however they send you paid to click e-mails several times a week. I strongly recommend them, and I would be happy to refer anyone that send me an e-mail address. Click here to send me a private message. Scroll down to "Contact Me".

8. Inbox Dollars and Send Earnings: Not recommended either. Like myPoints, the really are not PTC sites but they have a high cashout ($30), and only pay $0.02 per ad.

I've been making a lot more money at paid to write sites, paid to search sites, and of course paid surveys. You can take a good survey at Opinion Outpost for 20 minutes and get perhaps $2. That’s a lot better than clicking 200 ads! At Swag Bucks, a paid to search site, I get about $1-3 a week just for searching the web.

The only way PTC sites could really be profitable to you is if you had dozens of faithful referrals, which is unlikely for most of us.

So with the exception of You Data, I think PTC sites are a waste of time. If you still want to start using them, join You Data first, and then try Wordlinx or MyPoints.
